대설산식물 - 산앵도나무속 Vaccinium smallii var. smallii

 2023. 7. 11. 대설산 아사히다케. 

 

곤도라를 타고 오르는데 비가 내리기 시작한다. 우의와 비바지를 착용하고 우산까지 들고 등산로를 따라 가며 식물을 살폈다. 다행히 곧 비가 잦아 져서 그런대로 탐사에 지장은 없었다. 

 

일행들은 좋은 풍광을 담는다고 멀리 까지 바쁘게 걸었지만 구로다케의 식생과 비슷하여서 크게 욕심내지 않고 자잘한 녀석을들 좀 살피느라고 주어진 시간 안에서 여유 있게 움직였다. 

 

멀리 까지 갔던 선두는 되돌아 오는 길에 심한 비와 천둥까지 치는 악천후로 고생을 했다는데, 일행들이 우산을 쓰고 하산하다가 일본 등산객이 바닥에 납작 업드리면서 우산을 가리키고 외마디를 질러서 그제서야 눈치를  채고 우산을 접었다고 한다.  대설산은 낙뢰 사고가 많은 곳이라 우산은 절대로 들면 안된다는 걸 모르고 우산을 들었던 것이다. 

 

탐사를 시작하던 초입에서 만났던 녀석이다.

열매만 대충 보고 들쭉나무려니 하고 그냥 담았는데 엽형과 엽맥, 열매에서 들쭉나무와는 차이가 있다. 오히려 산앵도나무와 많이 닮은 녀석이다.

 

고산식물 도감에 실린 Vaccinium smallii var. smallii 와 근접해 보인다.

큐에서는 Vaccinium smallii  A. Gray 만 검색이 된다. 일본명 '오오바스노키'  オオバスノキ  

 

꽃이 붉은색으로 열매가 검게 익는 종과 꽃이 옅은 붉은 색이 있는 연녹색 꽃이 피며 붉게 있는 종이 있다.

일본 북해도, 혼슈 중부이북, 사할린에 분포하며 아고산대 관목림 임연부나 다설지에 자란다.
