대설산식물 - 흑월귤?(홍월귤속) 우라시마쯔쯔치 열매 Arctous alpina var. japonica

홍월귤은 국내에서 설악산 대청봉 어드메에 있다는데 가 보지 못하였고,
백두산에서도 만나보지 못하였던 녀석이다.
 
이른 봄에 꽃을 피우는 녀석이라 벌써 열매가 크게 자라고 있었다.
확인해 보니 열매가 나중에 붉게 익는 종과 검게 익는종 이 따로 있다.
 
Arctous rubra (Rehder & E.H.Wilson) Nakai 는 중국시베리아 한국에 분포하는 열매가 붉게 익는 홍월귤이다.
Arctous alpina(L.) Nied. =Arctous alpina var. japonica 는 극지방에 분포하는 열매가 검게 익는 흑월귤?이다.
 
위키피디아에는  Arctous alpina(L.) Nied.는  열매가 처음에는 녹색, 그 다음에는 빨간색, 마지막으로 광택이 나는 검은색이며 익는 종으로 설명하고 있다.
이미지 자료로 일본 북해도에서 촬영된  검게 익는 이 녀석 학명을 Arctous alpina var. japonica  으로 소개하고 있다.

Arctous alpina는 극지방에 분포합니다. 스코틀랜드에서 동쪽으로 스칸디나비아, 러시아, 알래스카, 캐나다 북부 및 그린란드를 가로지르는 고위도에서 발견됩니다. 유럽의 남쪽 한계는 피레네 산맥과 알프스, 아시아, 알타이 산맥과 몽골, 북아메리카에서는 서쪽의 브리티시 컬럼비아, 동쪽의 메인과 뉴햄프셔입니다. 자연 서식지는 황무지, 자작나무와 소나무가 있는 건조한 숲, 늪지 가장자리에 이끼로 덮인 곳이다.

 

내가 가지고 있는 일본 도감에는  Arctous alpina var. japonica 로 올려져 있다.
일본명으로는 우라시마쯔쯔치 ウラシマツツジ 로 북해도와 혼슈 중부이북에 분포한다고 한다.
그래서 대설산의 흑월귤의 학명을 Arctous alpina var. japonica 로수정한다.
