들쭉나무려니 생각하고 들쭉에 함께 올려 두었는데
아무래도 화관이 짧고 좁아지는 모습이 달라서 도감을 뒤져보니 역시 다른 녀석이다.
잎도 들쭉나무는 잎끝이 둔하고 더 넓고 짧아서 이 녀석과는 차이가 있다.
진달래과 녀석이 비슷비슷한 게 너무 많아서 찬찬히 들여다 보지 않으면 실수하기 딱이다.
녀석의 정체는 같은 산앵도나무속으로 Vaccinium ovalifolium 이다.
원산지는 러시아 극동에서 일본까지, 아북극 아메리카에서 동부 아메리카 까지다.
북해도와 혼슈 이북의 습한 숲과 고산과 아고산 지대까지 개방된 서식지에서 자라는 소관목으로 0.3~1m 까지 자란다
