들쭉나무(진달래과)

들쭉나무를 찾아서 비탈의 작은 나무들을 살피는데 다들 쉽게 찾지를 못한다.

한 쪽에 설악산에서 보았던 댕댕이나무 잎 비슷한 나무가 보이길래 자세히 보니 들쭉나무가 맞다.

 

북한의 유명한 술로 들쭉술이 있다. 들쭉나무 열매를 가지고 그 술을 만드는 재료로 쓴다.

한라산 정상 부근이라 바람이 세어서 키가 크지 못한 들쭉나무가 나지막하게 누워 있다.

 

꽃을 찾으려고 이 녀석 가지를 헤집어 보니 이제 겨우 한 두 송이 피고 있는 실정이다.

봉오리는 붉은색이 강한데 꽃이 피는 녀석은 화관 겉에 붉은색 줄로 나타난다. 너무 귀엽고 앙징스럽다.

 

▶들쭉나무(V. uliginosum L.): 열매는 구형 또는 타원형이고 지름은 6-7㎜.

▶굵은들쭉(for. depressum Nakai): 열매가 지름 1.4㎝로서 편구형인 것.

▶긴들쭉(for. ellipticum Nakai): 열매는 장타원형으로 길이 1.3㎝인 것. 

  

주로 고산지대의 양지와 습한 곳에서 잘 자라는 고산성 수목이다.

백색꽃은 표면이 홍색으로 얼룩지고 방울모양으로 달려서 무척 귀여운 인상을 주었다. 

 

 

   

와우~! 내 카메라로도 이렇게 담을 수 있다니 꽃 속의 노란 수술이 너무 선명하다.

꽃은 5-6월에 피며 길이 4mm로서 홍백색이고 전년지 끝에 1-4개씩 달리며 호형이다.

꽃받침은 5개로 갈라지고 열편은 삼각형이며 끝이 얕게 5개로 갈라지고 수술은 10개이며 수술대는 잔털이 있다. 

 

 

 

 

잎은 호생하고 난상 원형 도란형 또는 타원형이며 둔두 또는 미요두이고 예저이며 길이 15-25mm 폭 10-20mm로서

양면에 털이 없고 표면은 녹색이며 뒷면은 녹백색이고 가장자리가 밋밋하다.
