습지 주변 둔덕에 들쭉나무가 좁은잎백산차 나무와 함께 어우러져서 까맣게 익은 열매를 달고 있다.
들쭉 술은 북한에서 자랑하는 술이기도 하지만 서백두 숙소에 도착하던 첫날 달착한 들쭉 술 감칠맛에 몇 잔 홀짝 거리기도 하여
그 열매를 보니 더 반갑다. 작년 6월 초 한라산에서 들쭉나무 꽃을 담은 적이 있는데 오동통한 단지 모양을 한 꽃이 얼마나 귀엽던지...
▶들쭉나무(V. uliginosum L.): 열매는 구형 또는 타원형이고 지름은 6-7㎜.
▶굵은들쭉(for. depressum Nakai): 열매가 지름 1.4㎝로서 편구형인 것.
▶긴들쭉(for. ellipticum Nakai): 열매는 장타원형으로 길이 1.3㎝인 것.
