산매자나무(진달래과 산앵도나무속)

잎이나 수형은 꼭 산앵도나무와 비슷하다. 이름은 산매자나무인데 매자나무과가 아닌 진달래과이다.

그렇다고 꽃이 진달래를 닮지도 않았다. 도르르 말린 헤어스타일은 박쥐나무 꽃을 더 닮았다.

9월에 열매가 붉게 익는다는데 이 녀석 열매는 본 적이 없다. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

잎은 호생하고 2열로 배열하며 난형 또는 타원형으로 길이 2~6cm, 나비 1~3cm이고

끝은 뾰족하며 밑은 둥글고 가장자리에 잔 톱니가 있으며 뒷면은 흔히 흰빛이 돌고 엽병은 짧다.

작은 가지는 녹색으로 능선이 있으며 때로 잔털이 있고 묵은 가지는 회흑색이다.

 

 

잎 뒷면은 흰빛이 돌고 주맥 기부에 흰털이 있다.
