남부 지역 숲에서만 볼 수 있는 정금나무는 내가 확인한 북방 한계선은 구미이다.
가야산에서도 딱 한번 본 적은 있는데 경북 남부지역에서도 그리 흔하지는 않은 것 같다.
제주의 숲에서는 더러 만나기도하는데 가을에 익는 검은 열매는 한국산 블루베리라 칭할 정도로 성분이 좋은가 보다.
가끔 내 자료가 검색되어서 정금나무를 구할 수 없냐는 댓글이 달리기도 하는데
그런 쪽과는 관심이 없으니 도움을 줄 수가 없다.
방울꽃을 닮은 꽃도 이쁘거니와 열매 또한 좋다하니 어린 묘목 한 그루 들여 놓아 봄직도 하다만
발아시켜서 열매가 달릴 정도로 키우려면 6~7년은 키워야 한단다.
오늘 수목원 숲에서 제법 큰 정금나무에 달린 열매가 모두 내 뱃속으로 투입이 되었다. ㅎㅎ
아마 몇 년은 수명이 연장되지 않았을까?
이 녀석도 모새나무처럼 열매 배꼽에 꽃무늬 도장이 콱 찍혀 있다.
