모새나무(진달래과 산앵도나무속) Vaccinium bracteatum Thunb.

제주도에서 자생하는 모새나무를 처음 만났다.

검은재나무를 보러 들렀던 숲을 지나는데 바닥에 하얀 쌀알 같은 꽃이 떨어져 있길래 고개를 들어보니 모새나무였던 것이다.

안내를 하던 꽃동무도 모새나무의 존재를 미처 모르고 있었더랬다.
