몽골식물 -월귤(진달래과 산앵도나무속) Vaccinium vitis-idaea L.

테를지와 흡수굴의 습자 숲 바닥에서 만났다.

아직 애기월귤을 본 적이 없어서 혹시나 이 녀석이 애기월귤 이 아닐까 싶었는데 

애기월귤 학명으로 검색하면 넌출월귤이 소팅된다.

 

국가표준식물목록의 애기월귤 Vaccinium oxycoccus L. subsp. microcarpus (Turcz.) Kitam.

잎은 어긋나기하고 달걀 모양 첨두이며 원저 또는 예저이고 길이 3~6㎜, 폭 2㎜로서 양면에 털이 있으며, 표면은 짙은 녹색이고 광택이 있으며 뒷면은 분백색이고 가장자리는 뒤로 말리며 물결 모양의 톱니가 있고 엽병은 길이 1㎜ 미만으로서 거의 없다. 꽃은 1~2개가 가지 끝에 달리며 밑으로 처지고 꽃자루는 길이 2㎝로서 털이 거의 없으며 중앙부에 2개의 작은 포가 있다. 꽃받침은 거꿀달걀 모양이고 4개의 삼각상 열편으로 갈라지며 꽃부리는 붉은 빛이 돌고 4개로 깊게 갈라져서 뒤로 젖혀지며 열편은 길이 6~7㎜이다.  넌출월귤에 비해 식물체 크기가 작고 꽃자루에 털이 없으므로 구분된다.

높은 산의 습지에서 자라는 상록 활엽 떨기나무다. 줄기는 땅으로 뻗으면서 자라고 가지가 갈라지며, 가지는 껍질이 벗겨지고 짙은 갈색을 띤다. 잎은 어긋나며, 긴 타원상 난형, 길이 3~6mm, 폭 2~3mm, 끝은 뾰족하며 가장자리는 뒤로 말리고 잔 톱니가 있다. 잎 앞면은 녹색으로 윤기가 나고 뒷면은 분백색을 띤다. 꽃은 6~7월에 연한 홍색으로 피고 가지 끝에 1~2개씩 달리며, 밑으로 처진다. 꽃받침은 4갈래로 갈라진다. 꽃부리도 4갈래로 갈라지며 뒤로 젖혀진다. 수술은 8개다. 열매는 장과로 구형, 익으면 붉은색을 띤다. 한반도 북부지방에 자생하며, 러시아 아무르, 우수리, 사할린, 시베리아, 캄차카, 일본, 중국 동북부, 유럽, 북아메리카 등에 분포한다. 넌출월귤에 비해 식물체 크기가 작고 꽃자루에 털이 없으므로 구분된다. 열매를 식용한다. 조선월귤이라고도 부른다.

 

그러면 넌출월귤 작은 걸 애기월귤이라 하는 것인데 여태 내가 월귤과 같은 형태로 잘못 생각했나?
