대설산식물 - 진달래과 가울데리아속 '시라타마노키' Gaultheria pyroloides = Gaultheria miqueliana

아깝다~!!

올해는 이 녀석 꽃을 보게 될까 기대를 했는데 역시 봉오리 상태로 만났다.

아마도 3일 정도만 늦추었더라도 개화한 모습을 몰 수 있었을텐데 말이다.

작년에 이 녀석 잎과 마악 봉오리가 잡힌 녀석을 보고 학명을 찾느라고 엄청 끙끙거렸더랬는데 결국 잎 표면의 주름과 엽형으로 정제를 찾아내고서 무척 신이 났더랬다.

 

일본명 '시라타마노키'  シラタマノキ

상록 관목으로 30cm 정도 자라고 흰색의 들쭉나무 같은 꽃을 피우는데 열매도 들쭉나무 열매 모양의 백색 구슬 같다.

 

원산지는 사할린에서 일본 북부 및 중부, 알류샨 열도(NE. Kiska)이다
