산진달래(진달래과 진달래속) Rhododendron dauricum

현장에서는 백두식물 가이드가 황산차로 알려주어서 다들 그렇게 알고 담았다.

그려려니 하였는데 열매와 나무의 높이, 잎의 크기 등에 의문을 가진 꽃동무가

끝까지 여러 자료를 찾아보고 산진달래로 재동정을 하게 되었다.

끈기 있게 자료를 파헤친 꽃동무에게 박수를.....

 

높은 산의 바위지대에 자라는 상록떨기나무이다. 줄기는 높이 1~2m, 가지를 많이 치며, 어린가지에 잔털과 작은 비늘조각이 있다. 잎은 어긋나며, 가지 끝에서 모여난다. 잎자루는 길이 0.5~1cm, 잎몸은 긴 타원형 또는 타원형, 길이 2~4cm, 폭 1~1.5cm, 끝은 둔하거나 약간 뾰족하고 밑은 쐐기 모양이고 가장자리는 밋밋하다. 잎 앞면은 짙은 녹색이고 털이 거의 없으며, 뒷면은 연녹색 또는 연갈색이고 털이 있다. 우리나라 북부지방과 제주도에 자생하며, 러시아 동시베리아, 몽골, 일본, 중국 동북부 등에 분포한다. 진달래에 비해 상록성으로 잎이 작고 끝이 둔하므로 구분된다.

 

황산차 열매는 긴 타원형이며, 길이 6mm정도로 작은데 이 녀석은 1.5-2cm 정도로 길고 크다.

 

 

황산차의 잎자루는 길이 1~3mm인데, 이 녀석은 거의 1cm정도로 길다.

잎 뒷면에 털이 있다고 하지만 결실기가 모두 탈락하였는지 털은 보이지 않았다.

 

 

 

 

 

 

잎몸은 긴 타원형 또는 타원형으로 진달래와 달리 상록성이라 광택이 있으며 약간 두껍고 끝은 둔하다

 

 

도감상에는 열매 표면에 털과 비늘조각으로 덮여 있다고 하는데 비늘조각은 있지만 털은 보이지 않는다.

얼핏 모면 가장자릭 밋밋하고 거치가 없는 듯 하지만 접사한 원본을 보니 얕은 거치가 희미하게 나타난다

 

 

새잎 앞면에 비늘조각털이 많이 보는데 오래된 잎은 밀도가 낮아진다.

 

 

 

 

잎몸은 긴 타원형 또는 타원형, 길이 2~4cm, 폭 1~1.5cm, 끝은 둔하거나 약간 뾰족하다.
