대설산식물 - 홍만병초 =>노랑만병초(진달래과) Rhododendron aureum Georgi

노랑만병초와 어울려 옅은 붉은색을 띠는 홍색 만병초가 보인다.

 

이 녀석은 Rhododendron brachycarpum 의 변종 Rhododendron brachycarpum var. roseum Koidz.로

붉은만병초, 홍만병초로 분류되었더랬는데, 큐에서는 Rhododendron brachycarpum 의  아종으로 Rhododendron brachycarpum subsp. brachycarpum 으로 정리가 되었고, 국가표준식물목록에는 만병초의 이명으로 처리가 되어 있다.

 

그래도 홍만병초로 이름 붙여 본다.

 

=> 노랑만병초의 원본을 모두 살펴 본 결과 엽형이 같고 노랑만병초에도 화관 기부에 약간의 옅은 홍색이 보여서 색의 변이 폭이 있는 노랑만병초로 봐야 할 것 같아서 노랑만병초로 수정한다.  국내의 홍만병초는 왜성 관목이 아니라 2~4m 정도의 관목으로 엽형도 만병초 정도 크기라서 아마도 내가 동정을 잘못한 것 같다.

 올해 이 녀석 정확하게 관찰해 봐야하는 숙제가 있는 것 같다.
