잣나무(소나무과) 암꽃 수꽃 Pinus koraiensis Siebold & Zucc.

블방 친구 ㅅㅇ님 방에 갔다가 잣나무 꽃을 올렸기에

학교 뒤 뜰 잣나무도 꽃이 피었겠지 싶어서 잣나무 숲을 어슬렁거렸다.

 

잣나무는 소나무처럼 수꽃이 많이 피지는 않는 모양이다. 크고 노란 수꽃이 드문드문 꽃을 피우고 있다.

나무 꼭대기에는 작년 봄에 결실한 잣 송이가 벌써 주먹만해 졌다. 올 가을에 꽤나 수확할 수 있을 것 같다.

 

높은 가지 끝을 보니 새순 끝에 암꽃이 보인다. 이걸 어케 하믄 자르지 않고 담을 수 있을까?

궁리를 해도 뾰족한 수가 없다. 혹시 낮은 곳에 피는 녀석이 있나 싶어서 왔다 갔다 했더니.........

있다!

세차하는 길다란 대걸래를 뻗쳐서 가지를 잡아 당겨서 몇 장 담았다. ㅎㅎㅎ...ㅋㅋ

 

 <잣나무 암꽃>

 

 

헌데...에고고~! 손바닥에 잣나무 송진이 접착제처럼 묻어 버렸다. 송진 때문에 만지는 것 아무 거나 마구 달라 붙는다. 

비누 칠을 하고 수세미로 박박 문질러서 씻어도 잘 지워지지 않는다.

대신 진한 잣나무 향이 멋지다.

 

   

꽃은 일가화로서 5월에 피며 수꽃은 5-6개의 웅화수가 새가지 밑에 달리고 암꽃은 2-5개의 자화수가 가지 끝에 달린다.

암꽃은 녹황색으로 피고 수꽃은 루비와 같이 붉은색으로 핀다.

 

 

 

수꽃이다. 꽃밥이 터지면서 노란 꽃가루가 날리고 있었다.

 

 

 

 

잎은 5개가 모여 나고 있다.

 

 

 잎이 삼각기둥꼴을 하고 안쪽 한 면은 분백색이다.  

 

 

소나무과는 솔방울 열매가 익으려면 2년이 걸린다.

이 열매는 작년에 꽃이 피어 일년동안 자란 것이다. 올 가을에 누렇게 익어 딸 수가 있다.

 

 

학교 뒤에 잣나무가 30 주 정도 있다. 올해는 열매를 꽤나 수확할 것 같은데

이 녀석 수확하려면 호시탐탐 노리는 청설모를 잘 살펴야 하고 옷이며 손바닥에 송진 묻을 각오를 해야 한다. 

 

 

높이 30m 지름 1m에 달하고 수피는 암갈색이며 불규칙한 조각의 껍질이 있다. 어린가지에는 잔털이 있다.

재질이 좋으며 심재가 연한 홍색이므로 홍송이라고도 한다.
