비자나무와 개비자나무는 꽃이 피어서 그 이듬해 가을에서야 열매가 익는다.
그러니 지금 겨울에는 지난 봄에 맺은 어린 열매가 달려서 봄이 오기를 기다리고 있는 것이다.
암수딴그루인데 (수꽃)포자낭수는 동글동글 맺혀 있지만
암배우체는 새가지 밑 잎겨드랑이에 달려서, 새순이 나야 하므로 아직 봉오리를 볼 수가 없다
개비자나무와 유사하지만 잎이 딱딱하고 뒷면의 백색 기공선의 폭이 더 넓으며, 열매가 더 크고 녹색으로 익는다.
1년 차 어린 열매이다.
봄을 기다리고 있는 포자낭수(수꽃)이다.
