개비자나무(개비자나무과 개비자나무속) 열매 Cephalotaxus harringtonia (Knight ex Forbes) K. Koch

개비자나무는 잎이 부드럽고 뒷면의 기공선이 넓으며 열매가 비자나무에 비하여 작고 붉으스름하게 익는다.

비자나무는 남부 지역에 주로 분포하는 교목으로 키가 큰 녀석이며

잎이 딱딱하고 잎 뒷면의 기공선이 개비자나무에 비하여 좁고 열매가 더 크다.

개비자나무는 저지대 볕이 잘 드는 야산에서도 흔히 볼 수 있으며 개비자나무는 관목으로 크게 자라지 않는다.

 

지난 해 봄에 꽃이 피어서 해를 넘기고 있는 암구화수 어린 열매이다.

암구화수 배주는 한 꽃에 8-10개 씩 있고 암꽃은 길이 5mm이며 2송이씩 한 군데에 달리고 10여 개의 뾰족한 녹색 포로 싸여 있다.

 

 

4~5월에 꽃이 피는데 암구화수는 새순의 끝에서 달린다

어린 열매는 꽃이 필 때의 크기와 거의 변화가 없을 정도로 일년 동안은 자라지 않는데,

여러 개의 배주 중에서 몇 개가 열매로 성장을 한다.

 

 

 

비자나무와 개비자나무는 암수딴그루이다.

아래 녀석은 수구화수(수꽃) 이다. 아직 개화하지 않고 봉오리 상태이다.
