방기(새모래덩굴과 방기속) 열매 Sinomenium acutum (Thunb.) Rehder & E.H.Wilson

비행기 시간에 쫓겨서 계획했던 탐사 일정 소화하느라고 바쁘다.

이 녀석 열매는 생각지도 않았는데 꽃동무가 암꽃을 담은 적이 있는데 열매를 맺었다고 알려 주어서

정말 차 바퀴에 불이 나도록 바삐 움직였다.

 

작년에 남해 섬지역에서 방기 자생지에서 실물을 처음 대면하고

올 늦은 봄 방기 꽃을 보려고 천리 길을 달려서 다시 그 곳에서 수꽃을 담았더랬다.

 

암꽃을 보고자 숲을 샅샅이 뒤져도 암꽃은 보질 못하였는데 제주도에서 꽃동무 덕분에 이렇게 열매를 담게 되었다.

올 봄 꽃동무에게 방기의 존재를 알려줬더니 녀석의 덩굴이 보이는 곳마다 뒤져서 꽃을 찾았다고 하더니만 바로 암꽃이었던 것이다.

 

우와~!!! 우와~~!!

보고 싶던 녀석을 이렇게 만나니 탄성만 지른다.

도감에서 열매의 모습을 보긴 했지만 머루알 만큼 작은 열매가 엄청 풍성하게 달린 모습에 입을 다물지 못하였다.

 

 

10월에 흑색으로 익는 열매가 벌써 색을 내기 시작한다.
