댕댕이덩굴(새모래덩굴과 댕댕이덩굴속) 암꽃 Cocculus orbiculatus (L.) DC.

좁쌀같은 꽃은 시선을 끌지 못하지만 연두빛 잎새와 까만 열매가 머루처럼 익는 댕댕이덩굴,

 

어릴 적 강변 모래밭에서 소꽃볼이 할 때면 댕댕이 덩굴 줄기를 뜯어서 머리며 몸에 두르고 장식을 하면서 놀았다.

이 녀석 줄기는 제법 질겨서 바구니를 만드는데 솔찮이 이용되기도 한다.

 

가을 숲 언저리에 분청색 빛을 띤 검은 열매는 오가는 이들에게 즐거움을 준다.

열매는 검은색에 청색을 약간 섞어 놓은 듯한데 처음 열매가 익었을 때는 분백색 가루가 표면에 나타나 아주 멋진 빛깔을 띤다.

잎 겨드랑이마다 동그랗게 주저리로 열린 검은 열매는 어릴 적 우리들의 놀잇감이 되기도 하였다.

 

이렇 듯 식물이란 하찮은 것이 없다.

 

꽃은 암수딴그루로 5-6월에 피며 황백색이고 잎겨드랑이에서 원추화서로 난다.

꽃받침 열편과 꽃잎은 각각 6개 수꽃의 수술이 6개이고

암꽃에는 6개의 헛수술 3개의 심피와 1개 암술이 있다. 암술대는 원주형으로서 갈라지지 않는다. 

아래 녀석은 수꽃이다.

 

 

   

 

 

 

줄기와 잎에 털이 보송보송하다. 길이가 3m에 달하고 줄기가 어릴 때는 녹색이지만 오래되면 회색으로 된다. 

 

잎은 호생하며 난형 또는 난상 원형이지만 윗부분이 3개로 갈라지기도 하고 첨두 또는 둔두이며 아심장저이고

길이 3-12cm 폭 2-10cm이며 양면 특히 뒷면에 잔털이 많고 3-5출맥이 있다.

엽병은 길이 1-3cm이다. 거치가 없지만 얕은 결각이 있는 경우도 있다.

제주에서 담은 녀석은 잎의 결각이 매우 심하다.

 

 

제주의 녀석은 줄기가 더 붉고 털노 더 많은 것 같다. 생육 환경의 차이겠지.

 

 

 

  

 

열매는 핵과로 거의 구형이고 지름은 5-8mm이며 10월에 흑색으로 익는다.
