새모래덩굴(새모래덩굴과 새모래덩굴속) 열매 Menispermum dauricum DC.

여름날 호수 수변을 탐사 중에 열매가 달린 걸 본 적이 있었다.

암그루는 흔하지는 않지만 보이면 군락을 이루고 있어서 열매를 담기 수월하다.

 

종자를 채집해야할 일이 있어서 다시 찾았더니.....

쑥대궁과 단풍잎돼지풀이 자라고 며느리배꼽 덩굴까지 뒤덮어 엉기면서 풀들이 마구 쓰러져서

새모래덩굴이 그 풀 아래 깔려 버린 셈이 되었다.

 

이미 새모래덩굴 잎은 누렇게 변하여 떨어지고 있는 상태였는데

그 풀들을 헤치고 아랫도리를 뒤집어서 엉긴 덩굴 하나 하나 뒤지면서 까맣게 익은 열매를 채집하였다.

 

두 시간 동안 반경 3m * 3m 정도 되는 면적을 이잡 듯이 뒤졌더니

더운 날씨가 아닌데도 땀이 콩죽 같이 흐르고 속옷이 함빡 젖어 버렸다.
