식나무(층층나무과) 암꽃 수꽃Aucuba japonica Thunb.

자생지에서 식나무 열매는 원 없이 보았지만 꽃을 담은 적이 없었는데 생각지도 않게 식나무 꽃을 담게 되었다.

제주에 내려 오다 보면 그 시기에 피는 인기 있는 꽃을 중심으로 하여 여기 저기 장소를 옮기게 되는데

이번에는 오름 하나를 완전히 뒤지다시피 탐사를 한 덕분에 식나무 꽃도 만나게 된 것이다.

 

꽃은 암수딴그루로 3~4월에 피고 지름 8mm이며 4수이고 줄기 끝의 원추화서에 달리며 화축에 털이 있다.

암꽃은 길이 5-8cm의 화서에 달리며 꽃잎은 난형이고 길이 2mm이며 검은 자주색이고 자방은 타원형이다.

소지는 녹색이며 굵고 털이 없으며 윤채가 있다.

 

 

 

2월의 식나무 열매이다. 겨울동안 이렇게 붉은 열매를 달고 있다.
