단풍객들 인파로 고생스럽게 올라갔던 팔공산
열매는 고사하고 잎마저 다 떨어져 버린 빈 나무에 닭 쫒던 개 지붕쳐다 보듯이 입맛만 다시고 내려 왔다.
잎 뒷면에 털이 없는 녀석을 민대팻집나무로 따로 분류하고 있다. 국내의 감탕나무속 중에서 유일하게 낙엽이 지는 녀석이다
수피가 회백색이고 짧은 가지에는 잎이 모여나기 때문에
엽흔이 마치 애벌레 주름처럼 보이는 점이 특징이어서 잎이 떨어져도 욘석을 알아보기는 쉽다
나무 꼭대기 높이 점 찍어 놓은 듯 달려 있는 열매를 보고 어찌나 반갑던지...
노랗게 단풍이 든 잎을 떨구지 못하고 있는 녀석도 드물게 보인다
매끈한 회백색 수피에는 자잘한 피목이 있다.
