완도호랑가시나무(감탕나무과 감탕나무속) Ilex × wandoensis C. F. Mill. & M. Kim

이 종은 호랑가시나무에 비해 잎의 아랫부분은 둥글게 좁아지므로 구별된다. 

호랑가시나무와 감탕나무의 자연교잡종으로 1979년 처음 완도에서 발견되어 완도호랑가시라 명명되었다.

 

다행하게도 아직도 남아 있는 꽃이 있었다.

잎끝은 뾰족하고 아랫부분은 둥글게 좁아진다.

가장자리에는 조그만 가시가 있기도 하며 앞면은 짙은 녹색으로 광택이 있고 잎 뒷면은 황록색을 띤다.

 

 

아래 녀석은 엽질이 더 두꺼워서 좀 더 호랑가시나무의 잎을 닮은 형태이다.
