난티나무(느릅나무과)

와우~! 난티나무 꽃을 보다니~!

울릉도에서 열매를 달고 있는 녀석을 만나긴 했지만 꽃은 정말 뜻밖이다.

 

이 녀석은 교목이라 꽃을 담기 어려운데다가 고산 지역에 서식하기 때문에 자주 만날 기회도 없다. 계곡 아래서 자라고 있는 녀석을 눈 밝은 꽃동무 덕분에 다리 위에 서서 아주 편안하게 담았다.

화서를 보면 느릅나무과는 분명한데 혹시나 다른 녀석일까 싶어서 이리 저리 머리 굴려도 난티나무 이외는 다른 후보가 없다.

 

이 녀석은 잎 끝이 세갈래로 갈라지며 끝이 꼬리처럼 길게 뾰족한 특징을 가지고 있다.

지금은 이름을 잃어버렸지만 난티잎개암나무라는 녀석이 있었는데 그 잎도 난티나무 잎처럼 생겼대서 <난티>라는 접두어를 달고 있다.

 

잎이 나기 전에 2년지 가지에서 취산화서 꽃차례로 핀다

수술은 5~6개, 암술은 2갈래로 깊게 갈라진다

이 녀석은 왕느릅나무비술나무,느릅나무에 비하여 꽃자루가 더 길고 화서가 성글게 형성이 되었다.

 

 

6월 하순경의 잎이다.

잎 끝이 세갈래로 갈라지며 끝이 꼬리처럼 길게 뾰족한 특징을 가지고 있다

 

 

 

 

 

 

동글동글한 겨울눈이 꽃눈이다.

 

 

 

 

 

 

수피는 회갈색으로 세로로 갈라지는데 오래 되면 조각조각 떨어진다.
