비술나무(느릅나무과) 열매 Ulmus pumila L.

비술나무~~! 틈만 나면 이 녀석 봐야 한다고 노래를 부르고 다녀서 그런가?

올해 비술나무를 자주 만난다. 4월 초순 두어 번 담았던 비술나무 꽃은 느릅나무랑 같은데 꽃밥 색이 더 흑자색이다.

잎은 생각 보다 훨씬 작아서 참 뜻밖이었다. 아마 참느릅나무보다도 더 작은 것 같다.

  

시과 열매는 길이보다 너비가 더 넓고, 털이 없으며 도란형이고 길이 12-13mm이며 으며 끝이 오목하고,

종자는 중부 또는 중상부에 있으며 5월에 성숙하고 떨어지면 곧 싹이 돋는다.

 

 

 

 

잎은 호생하고 타원형, 긴 타원형 또는 피침형이며 첨두 또는 점첨두이고 길이 7(보통 3-5)cm로서 예저 또는 원저이며

가장자리에

단거치 또는 복거치가 있고 양면에 털이 없다

.

엽병은 길이 2-8mm로서 처음에는 털이 있으나

점차 없어진다.

 

 

 

꽃은 양성으로서 3월에 잎보다 먼저 피며 취산화서는 엽액에 달린다. 수술도 4-5개이고 자방은 납작하고 화주는 2개이다

 

 

 

높이 15m, 지름 1m에 달하고 가지는 밑으로 늘어지는 성질이 있으며 수피는 회흑색으로 조각조각 갈라진다.

소지는 처음에는 털이 있으나 점차 없어지며 이년지는 회갈색이다.
