미선나무 새로운 자생지가 있다는 정보에 오래 전 더러 들락거리던 산 자락에 들렀다.

부슬거리던 비는 그쳤지만 옷섶을 며미게 하는 쌀쌀한 기온에 따듯한 커피 한 잔이 아쉬운 날씨였다.

 

미선이가 있을만한 곳을 뒤졌지만 찾지 못하고 산 초입 느릅나무 꽃만 얼르다가 돌아 왔다.

잎도 나기 전에 줄기 마디마다 동아 인편이 열리면서 속눈섶 같은 꽃술을 터뜨린다.

 

교목의 꽃 중에서는 느릅나무속 녀석들이 가장 빨리 개화한다.
