왕느릅나무(느릅나무과 느릅나무속) Ulmus macrocarpa Hance

비술나무, 느릅나무, 왕느릅나무는 꽃이 필 때는 같은 모습이라서 구분이 어려운 녀석이다

비술나무의 꽃밥이 느릅나무보다 더 검은 색을 띠고

왕느릅나무의 꽃눈이 더 크고 화서도 크지만 가까이 비교하지 않고는 차이점을 측정하기 애매하기 때문이다.

 

왕느릅나무를 찾았는데 이미 수술 꽃밥이 다 떨어지고 남아 있는 수술대 사이에

두 갈래의 암술이 말갛게 터져 있었다. 비술나무나, 느릅나무처럼

왕느릅나무도 암술과 수술이 나오는 시기를 달리하여 자가 수분을 피하는 전략을 가지고 있다.
