두메닥나무(팥꽃나무과)

2013. 5. 초순. 강원도.

 

매년 봐도 키가 그대로다.

고산 높은 지역에 자리를 잡았는데다가 올해는 4월까지 눈이 내리는 변덕스러운 날씨로

이 녀석이 골병이 단단히 들었다.

 

잎도 싱싱하지 않고 황색 기운이 보이며 꽃도 추위를 이기느라 힘들었던 흔적이 보인다.

그래도 용케도 꽃은 피웠으니 열매도 곱게 달아주겠지.

 

 

 

팥꽃나무과로 백서향과 서향, 그리고 두메닥나무를 귀하게 만나는데 정작 팥꽃나무를 아직 본 적이 없다

호남 지역에 서식을 한다는데...

 

 

 

 

 

이 녀석의 줄기는 부드럽게 휘어지기도 하고 매우 부드러운 고무 스틱을 만지는 느낌을 준다
