수목원의 삼지닥나무가 움찔 꽃망울을 부풀리기 시작했다. 이 녀석도 겨울이 심심한 모양이다.
삼지닥나무는 팥꽃나뭇과에 딸린 낙엽 관목이다. 가지가 3개씩 갈라지므로 삼지닥나무라고 한다.
키는 1~2m쯤 자란다. 잎은 어긋나기로 나고, 가늘고 길며 뒷면에 털이 있다. 봄에 노란색 꽃이 잎보다 먼저 피며,
작고 단단한 열매는 가을에 익는다. 나무 껍질은 종이를 만드는 데 쓰인다. 중국이 원산지이며, 우리 나라와 일본 등지에 분포한다.
