산닥나무(팥꽃나무과 산닥나무속) 열매 Wikstroemia trichotoma (Thunb.) Makino

이 녀석의 나무껍질은 한지나 밧줄을 만드는 재료로 이용된다.

사찰 가까운 곳에 이 녀석은 쉽게 볼 수 있는데.

사찰에서 종이를 만드는 재료를 쉽게 공급하기 위하여 사찰 주변에 심었지 않았나 추측한다.

 

산지에서 높이 1~2m 정도로 자라며 가지는 가늘고 붉은빛을 띠는 갈색이다.

우리나라 경기도 강화, 전라남도 월출산, 진도, 고흥, 경상남도 남해도 등에 자생하며 일본 혼슈 이남, 중국 중남부 등에 분포한다.

 

거문도닥나무는 잎이 어긋나기인데 산닥나무는 잎이 마주나기이다.
