분버들 암꽃

눈쌓인 태기산 자락에서 만났던 호랑버들이 아닐까 했던

화서가 크고 긴 버드나무 암꽃이 분버들일 가능성이 크다는 걸 이제사 깨닫는다

아직 분버들을 대면하지 못하여 확신할 수는 없지만 분버들에 대한 정보를 검색하여 본 결과

내가 봤던 이 암꽃이 분버들일 가능성이 많다고 결론을 내린다.

 

분버들은 꽃의 수정이 끝 난 후 쯤이면  붉거나 황록색의 전년도 가지에 분이 생기면서 분백색으로 변하는 특징이 있다.

화서가 큰 호랑버들과 비슷하여 꽃이 필 때는 다소 구분이 애매하지만

호랑버들은 통통한 둥근 타원형 화서이고, 분버들은 버드나무 중에서도 대형인 3~4cm 정도의 긴 원주형이라 차이가 있다.

 

이 녀석 암꽃도 유난히 길다는 느낌을 받았는데 호랑버들고 갯버들도 아니고 뭘까? 감이 잡히지 않았었다.

분버들에 대한 정보를 공부하면서 이제사 이 녀석이 분버들 암꽃일 수 있다는 심증을 굳힌다.

주말에 만항재에 갈 계획이니 이 녀석 확인은 꼭 해 봐야 한다. 까묵지 말자.
