두메닥나무(팥꽃나무과) 열매

올해도 이 녀석 고운 열매를 못볼까 조바심이 났다.

지난 해에는 너무 늦게 찾아 오는 바람에 겨우 한알 감질나게 쳐다 보았었다.

 

관목을 헤치고 들어가니 있다. 고운 색 열매 한 알.

올해는 결실이 잘 안 된 것 같아서 열매가 별로 안 보이더라더니 정말 그런가 싶었지만

엉긴 관목 가지를 헤치던 꽃동무가 여기 저기서 잘도 찾아 낸다. 아~! 고와라~!

 

국내 분포 : 오대산, 발왕산, 두타산, 석병산, 금대봉, 함백산, 지리산, 덕유산

 

 

가지는 고무나무처럼 부드럽게 휘어지고 줄기는 곧게 서거나 눕고 원주형이며 겉이 밋밋하고 회백색 또는 회갈색을 띠며 주름이 있다. 장과는 구형 또는 타원형으로 가을에 붉게 익는다.

 

 

 

 

잎은 호생하며 길이 4.0~8.5cm로서 긴 도란형 또는 도피침형이고 예두 또는 둔두이며

표면은 청록색이고 뒷면은 약간 분백색이 돌며 가장자리는 밋밋하고 엽병은 길이 5-7mm이다

 

 

총상화서는 전년지 끝의 엽액에 발달하고 2~5개의 꽃이 달린다.

꽃은 암수딴그루로서 봄에 은은한 파스텔톤 아이보리색으로 피는데 암꽃이 다소 작으며,

꽃받침은 황색이고 난형 또는 피침형으로서 첨두이며 꽃받침통은 녹색이다. 수술은 8개이다.

올해는 이녀석 꽃을 보지 못하였다.

산 정상부에 사는 이 녀석은 이른 봄에는 산불방지로 입산이 통제 되어 있어서 꽃을 보기 힘들다.
