큰보리장나무(보리수나무과) Elaeagnus × submacrophylla Servett

남부지역에 자생하는 보리수나무과 중에 가을에 꽃이 피는 넌출성 관목으로 보리장나무와 보리밥나무가 대표적인 것인데

큰보리장나무는 두 녀석의 교잡종으로 본다고 한다.

헌데 보리밥나무와 큰보리장나무는 도감의 기재문을 정리해 봐도 사실 그 경계가 모호하다.

 

아래 정리한 내용을 근거로 내가 여태껏 흔히 보리밥나무라 생각했던 녀석이 대부분 큰보리장나무였다.

제주에서 담은 대부분이 큰보리장나무였고 보리밥나무는 오히려 만나기 힘든 녀석이었던 것을.

그 외에도 잎이 좁은바소꼴로 양끝이 뾰족한 가는잎보리장나무, 잎몸이 둥그스름한 녹보리똥나무, 왕볼레나무 등이 더 있는데

이번에 발간되어 인기리에 판매되고 있는 한국의 나무 도감에는 보리밥나무와 보리장나무 두 종으로 통합시켜 버렸다.

 이 녀석은 어린 가지가 적갈색을 띠고 잎 뒷면과 잎자루에 적갈색 인모가 보인다.

 열매도 갈색 인모로 덮여 있다.

 

 

 

큰보리장나무는 잎 뒷면이 은백색에 갈색 점이 많다. 잎 자루에도 갈색점이 많다.

 

 

 

 

보리밥나무 어린 가지는 흰색이거나 갈색인데 큰보리장나무는 적갈색이다.

 

 

 

잎 뒷면은 은백색에 적갈색 점이 있다.

 

 

 

잎 표면의 은백색 비늘털은 곧 없어져서 진한 녹색이 된다

 

 

잎 자루에도 적갈색 비늘털이 있다.
