통영볼레나무(보리수나무과 보리수나무속) Elaeagnus pungens Thunb

거제와 통영 주변 산지에 자생하는 녀석이다.  

몇 년 전 11월  미륵산에서 이 녀석을 찾아서 헤멘 적이 있다.

결국 찾긴 했지만 꽃도 지고 어린 열매가 달려 있었더랬다.

 

이 녀석은 가지에 경침이 발달하하는 특징이 있긴 하지만 수고가 높은 큰 개체의 잔 가지에는 경침이 나타나지 않았다.

경침이란 게 결국 가지로 자라는 것이니 어린 유목일수록 가지를 많이 만들어 성장해야 하기에 경침이 많이 발달한다.

 

어린가지에 갈색 인편모가 밀생하고, 가지 끝은 경침으로 변한다. 

잎은 장타원형 내지 피침형이며, 예두 내지 둔두이고, 원저이다.

 

잎 가장자리는 파상으로 두드러지게 반곡하고, 앞면에는 은백색과 갈색 인편모가 성기게 분포하나 곧 떨어지며,

뒷면에는 은백색과 갈색 인편모가 밀생한다. 잎자루는 길이 0.6-1.0cm, 겉에 갈색 인편모가 있다.

    4. 암술대에 성상모가 없다. 소지는 갈색 또는 적갈색이다.
        5. 경침이 있고 엽연은 파상형이며 뒤로 젖혀진다. 꽃받침은 종형이며 은백색 인모가 밀생한다 ······· 통영볼레나무
