왕느릅나무(느릅나무과 느릅나무속) 열매 Ulmus macrocarpa Hance

오늘 바쁘다. 스승의날 체육 행사 마친 후 몇 군데 다니느라고.

봉정사며, 갈라산이며, 청량산까지 부리나케 이동한다. 주인 잘못 만난 자동차가 고생이다. ㅎㅎ

 

산뽕나무 수꽃이 노랗게 피었길래 그 녀석 담으려고 차를 멈추었는데 옆에 동전만한 노르스름한 열매가 시선을 끈다.

우와~~! 이렇게 큰 느릅나무 열매는 첨 봤다. 이건 확인하고 말고 왕느릅이다.

 

  

꽃은 4월에 묵은 가지 엽액에 5-9송이씩 모여 붙고 길이 15mm의 양성화이며 화피는 4-5갈래이고 녹색이다.

수술은 4-5개로서 꽃밥은 누른빛이 도는 장미빛이다. 암술은 1개이고 자방 하위이며 주두는 2갈래이다. 

 

 

열매는 시과로서 타원형 넓은 도란형이고 길이 2-3cm 폭 2-3cm이며 전체에 단모와 더불어 선모가 있고 5-6월에 익는다.

종자는 날개의 아랫부분에 가깝게 있다. 

 

 

 

동전을 꺼내어 비교해 보니 100원짜리 동전보다 더 크다. 꽃을 못담았구나. 쩝~! 꽃이야 느릅이나 왕느릅이나 같겠제?

 

 

  

 

잎은 호생하며 넓은 도란형 또는 도란상 긴 타원형이고 길이 3.5-15.5cm 폭 2-9cm로서 급첨두이며

이그러진 예저거나 심장저이며 양면이 모두 거칠며 가장자리에 치아상의 예리한 톱니가 있다.

엽병은 길이 3-6mm로서 짧은 털이 밀생한다. 8-16쌍의 측맥이 있다. 

 

 

  

 

 

수피는 회흑색이며 얕게 세로로 갈라지고 소지는 연한 황갈색이거나 홍갈색으로 거센 털이 있으며 가지에는 코르크질의 날개가 있다. 

 

 

 

▶당느릅(Ulmus davidiana Planchon): 열매에 잔털이 있다.

▶혹느릅(for. suberosa Nakai): 가지에 갈색의 코르크질이 잘 발달되어 있다.

▶참느릅나무(Ulmus parvifolia var. coreana Uyeki): 잎에 단거치가 있고 잎 양 면에 털이 없다. 꽃은 9월에 핀다.

▶민느릅(var.laevigata): 소지에 털이 없고 잎 표면에 광택이 있다
