느릅나무(느릅나무과 느릅나무속) Ulmus davidiana Planch. ex DC. var. japonica (Rehder) Nakai

느릅나무와 비술나무는 꽃을 보고 쉽게 구분이 어렵지만 자세히 살피면 구분이 된다.

 

느릅나무 : 꽃밥 색이 밝은 홍자색을 띠고 수술대가 길다, 어린 가지가 짧고 비술나무에 비하여 굵다. 비술나무보다 잎이 크다

비술나무 : 꽃밥 색이 어두운 흑자색 띠고 수술대가 짧다. 어린 가지가 가늘고 길어서 휘어져 늘어지는 느낌을 준다. 잎이 작다. 

 

 

수술 밥주머니가 터지기 전에도 암술이 생성되어 있다가 꽃밥주머니가 터지고 시들 무렵에 암술이 성숙한다.
