미국낙상홍(감탕나무과 감탕나무속) 열매 Ilex verticillata (L.) A.Gray

읍사무소 마당에 미국낙상홍나무가 한 그루 있다.

담 밖에 수 그루가 몇 해 꽃이 피고 있는 걸 보긴 했는데 마당 안에 암그루가 있는 건 올 봄에 우연하게 알게 되었다.

암꽃을 찾고 있던 참에 얼마나 반갑던지. 그 덕분에 흰색의 6~8장의 꽃잎을 가진 미국낙상홍 암꽃 자료를 확보하였다.

 

어제 퇴근길에 일부러 들러 봤더니만 아직 잎도 싱싱하고 콩알보다 작은 빨간 열매가 곱게 달려 있어서

단양이 담으러 갔다가 돌아 오는 길에 들렀다.

 

낙상홍	미국낙상홍
꽃잎은 4-5장 엷은 자주색(흰색에 가깝기도)	꽃잎은 5~8장이며 흰색
긴 타원형 또는 난상 타원형으로 길이 4-8cm, 넓이 3-4cm이며 잎 끝은 뾰족하고 가장자리에 예리한 톱니가 있으며 잎의 양면에 짧은 털이 있다	낙상홍에 비해 더 크고 장타원형에 가까움. 잎 끝은 뾰족하고 가장자리에 예리한 톱니가 있으며 잎의 양면에 짧은 털이 있다
