머귀나무(운향과 초피나무속) 열매 Zanthoxylum ailanthoides Siebold & Zucc.

높이 15m 까지 자라는 큰 교목으로 수목류 중에서 잎이 대형인 분류군이다.

우상복엽의 작은잎은 꼬리가 길게 빠지고 잎기부가 좌우 비대칭이다.

수피는 회갈색으로 큰 가시 있고, 가시가 오래되면 사마귀 같은 돌기로 변한다.

 

암수딴그루로 새가지에 황백색의 산방꽃차례가 달린다.

분과 열매는 3갈래로 갈라진다. 바다 가까운 산지에 자란다.
