소태나무(소태나무과 소태나무속) Picrasma quassioides (D.Don) Benn.

잎을 씹으면 소태같이 쓴 맛이 난다. 그래서 소태나무란 이름은 얻었다.

통행에 방해가 된다고 도로 주변의 나무를 다 잘라 버렸다. 잎이 싱싱한 걸 보니 작업을 한지 몇 시간 되지 않는 것 같다.

잘린 가지를 들고 마지막 애도의 기념 사진을 찍어 주었다.

 

 

꽃이 진지 얼마 안되는지 4갈래로 갈라진 암술이 달려 있다.

 

 

꽃은 이가화로서 새가지의 엽액에서 5-6월에 피며 지름 4-7㎜로서 녹색이 돌고 지름 8-15cm의 취산화서에 달린다. 4-5개의 꽃잎과 수술이 있으며 합생하는 암술대가 갈라진 자방 밑에 달리고 암술머리가 4개로 갈라진다.

 

 

 

 

 

잎은 호생하고 기수1회우상복엽이며 소엽은 9-15개이고 난형 또는 긴 난형이며 점첨두이고 의저, 원저 또는 넓은 예저이며 길이 4-10cm, 폭 1.5-3cm로서 표면에 털이 없고 윤채가 있으며 뒷면 맥위에 털이 있거나 없고 가장자리에 파상의 톱니가 있다.

 

 

열매는 핵과로 난상 원형이며 9월경에 적색으로 성숙하는데 3-4개가 모여서 나고 지름은 6-7mm쯤이며 숙존(宿存)악이 있다.
