섬황벽(운향과 황벽나무속) Phellodendron insulare Nakai

울릉도에 자생하며 러시아 일본에도 분포한다.

수피는 회색으로 코르크가 발달한다. 잎은 마주나거나 드물게 어긋나며 3~5쌍의 깃꼴겹잎이다.

작은잎은 난형 또는 난상타원형이다

 

황벽나무에 비하여 작은 잎의 수가 적고 난형인 점에서 구분하고 있는데

황벽나무의 변종으로 보거나 같은 종으로 보기도 한다

 

암수딴그루로 아래는 암꽃이다
