오수유(운향과 쉬나무속) 열매

2015. 8. 30. 서해안.

 

천리포 수목원 구역 안의 비공개 지역을 탐사하는데 자생종이 아닌 식물들이 많이 보인다.

아마도 천리포식물원의 외래종들이 주변으로 퍼져 나간 것 같다.

 

다들 이 낯선 녀석을 보고 왈가 왈부다.

운향과임은 분명한데 아무래도 첨 보는 것이라 고개만 갸웃했다.

 

쉬나무라 주장하던 회원도 있었지만 쉬나무는 아니었는데

쉬나무와 거의 흡사하고 중국산 으로 경주에서 처음 재배하였다는 오수유까지 미처 떠오르지 않았다.

 

오수유를 아직 한 번도 대면하지 못했지만  

돌아오는 차 안에서 갑자기 뒤통수 한 방 얻어 맞은 듯 그 녀석이 오수유일 거라는 생각이 드는 거였다.

왜 오수유까지 생각하지 못했을까? 역시 내 추측이 맞았다. 오수유.

운향과 조사 때문에 이 녀석을 그렇게 찾았었는데 정작 앞에 두고서는 몰라 봤다.

 

오수유 열매를 약재로 이용하기도 하지만 쉬나무처럼 열매 기름을 짜서 등유로도 이용하였다고 한다.

 

화서는 화경과 화축이 거의 보이지 않을 정도로 쉬나무보다 밀집형이다.

 

 

쉬나무에 비하여 소엽의 수가 더 많고 잎맥도 더 많고 조밀하다

 

 

쉬나무보다 잎이 긴 난형이고 소엽이 7~9장으로 대부분 9장으로 확인이 되었다

 

잎은 긴 난형으로 소엽은 7-15개이며 소엽병이 짧고 난형, 타원상 난형 또는 장타원형이며

점첨두 또는 예두이고 예저 또는 원저이며 표면은 어릴 때 털이 있지만 중륵 이외의 것은 점차 없어지고 뒷면에 털이 있다..
