황벽나무(운향과 황벽나무속) Phellodendron amurense Rupr.

황벽나무 초록 잎새가 아주 싱그럽다.

새순 끝에 자잘하게 꽃봉오리가 달린 모습이 좀 아쉽다.

줄기의 이끼를 보니 수 십년 풍상을 견딘 연륜이 그대로 전해 온다.

 

수피는 연한 회색으로 코르크질이 발달하여 갈라지고 내피는 황색이다.

황벽이란 이름은 황색 내피에서 온 것이다. 잎은 마주나거나 드물게 어긋나며 5~13쌍의 깃꼴겹잎이다.

작은잎은 난상 피참형으로 길이 5~13cm, 폭 3~3.5cm 로 가장자리에 둔한 톱니ㄷ가 있다.
