좀꽝꽝나무(감탕나무과)=>꽝꽝나무 열매 Ilex crenata Thunb.

=> 좀꽝꽝나무가 꽝꽝나무의 이명으로 처리되었다

 

아궁이에 불을 지펴서 생활하던 예전에는 나무 등걸은 좋은 땔감이었다.

아마 나무 종류마다 탈 때 내는 소리가 특징이 있지 않았나 싶은데 이 녀석 타는 소리가 꽤나 요란 스러웠던 모양이다.

나뭇가지가 탈 때 꽝꽝 소리가 크게 난다고 하여서 꽝꽝나무라 이름을 얻었다고 한다.

 잎이 작은 좀꽝꽝나무가 있는데 아마 이 녀석이 좀꽝꽝나무로 보인다

 

 

 

 7월 한라산에서 담은 좀꽝꽝나무 꽃이다.

꽃은 암수딴그루로서, 5-6월에 백록색의 작은 꽃이 핀다. 수꽃은 짧은 총상 또는 복총상화서에 3-7개씩 달리고 퇴화된 암술이 있으며

암꽃은 엽액에 1개씩 달리고 화경이 길며 퇴화된 4개의 수술과 1개의 4실 자방이 있다.
