"그려? 그라몬 너도 밤나무 하그라."
뭐 그래서 너도밤나무가 되었다는 야그가 전해 오고 있다는. ㅎㅎ

폭탄 같은 열매가 주렁주렁한 너도밤나무는 울릉도에만 분포하고 있다고 한다.
너도밤나무에 대한 비슷비슷한 이야기가 많이 전해지는데 한가지를 소개하면
옛날 깊은 산골에 가난한 부부가 힘겹게 살아가고 있었다. 어느 날 꿈에 산신령이 나타나서 몇월 며칠까지 밤나무 천 그루를 채워 놓지 않으면 큰 재난을 당할 것이라고 한다그 날 부터 노부부는 밤낮을 가리지 않고 주위에 자라는 밤나무를 모조리 캐어다가 심었다.
헌데 998 그루까지 심었는데 두 그루는 아무리 해도 채울 수가 없더란다.운명의 시간은 다가오는데 뾰족한 방법이 떠오르지는 않고 결국 재앙을 맞을 수 밖에 없었는데할 수 없이 비슷한 두 그루를 옮겨 심어두고 시치미를 떼었겄다.
산신령이 나타나서 밤나무 천그루를 확인하는데 마지막 두 그루가 어째 좀 이상한 거라.한 녀석에게 산신령이 물었겄다.
"너도 밤나무냐?""예, 나도밤나무입니다요"
"그래? 응. 그러면 너도밤나무냐?""너도밤나무인디요"
"니가 밤나무가 맞냐고요?""너도밤나무입니다요""뭐시라????"
결국 짝퉁 밤나무 두 그루를 채워 넣은 것이 들통이 나게 되었는데 너도밤나무는 할머니와 울릉도로,할배와 나도밤나무는 남해안 섬으로 귀양을 보내었다는 야그가 전해 온다. 믿거나 말거나.
