왕호장근(마디풀과)

우와~! 참말로 대따 크다!

제주에서 본 붉은호장근이나 감절대, 호장근과 비교가 안 될 정도라...왕자가 붙을 만하다.

녀석은 해안 곳곳에 자생하고 있었는데 꽃이 피면 장관이겠다. 이 녀석도 울릉도에만 자생한다.

높이 2-3m이고 곧게 자라며 줄기는 원주형으로 속이 비어 있으며 녹색이지만 광선이 닿으면 붉어지고 어린순이 죽순같다.

잎은 호생하며 엽병이 있고 난형 또는 긴 난형이며 둔두 심장저이고 톱니가 없으며 길이 15-30cm, 폭 10-20cm 로서

뒷면은 흰빛이 돌고 탁엽은 막질이다.

 

 잎 하나가 내 손바닥으로 가리기 힘들 정도로 크다.

 

 

 

 꽃은 자웅이주로서 8-9월에 피며 백색이고, 복총상화서는 정생 또는 액생하며 털이 밀생하고 다수의 잔꽃이 밀착하며 화경이 짧고 작다. 포(苞)는 난형으로 끝이 길며 날카롭다.
