청괴불나무 열매가 제법 모양을 내고 있다.
괴불나무 속의 특징인 하나의 꽃자루에 두 개씩 꽃이 피는 이 녀석은 자방이 반 이상 붙어 있어서
점점 자라면서 거의 붙게 되는데 빨갛게 익을 때는 배꼽만 두개가 보일 정도로 완전히 하나로 되어 버린다.
그리 크지 않은 잎은 양면에 털이 없고 가장자리에 톱니가 없이 밋밋하다. 엽병은 길이 2-5mm로서 털이 없다.
이미 거의 한 몸이 되고 있다.
갈라진 가지 기부에 어린 눈을 싸고 있던 아린이 아직 남아 있는 것이 특징이다.
어린 가지는 자갈색을 띠고 점차 회갈색으로 변한다.
