아랫 녘에는 열매가 제법 커졌는데 북쪽 고개에는 이제사 꽃이 피고 있다. 한국에만 자생하는 특산식물이란다.
이 녀석은 처음 꽃이 필 때는 흰색인데 점차 노랗게 변해 간다. 그걸 모르고 어떤 이는 청괴불나무 꽃이 노란색인 줄 안다.
꽃자루는 짧은 편이다. 처음 개화될 때 이렇게 뽀얗던 꽃색이
이렇게 노랗게 변신을 하였다.
햇가지 기부에 아린(겨울눈을 싸고 있던 비늘)이 남아 있는 게 청괴불나무의 특징이다. 소지는 자갈색이 돌며 털이 없다
작년 7월의 열매다.
높이가 2m에 달하고 가지는 골 속이 차 있으며 백색이다
