모시물통이(쐐기풀과)

석축 아래 모시물통이가 곱게도 꽃을 피우고 있다.

뽕모시풀과 사진상으로 헷갈리는 녀석이다. 모시물통이는 잎이 마주나고 줄기가 연하고 네모나다.

뽕모시풀은 잎이 어긋나고 줄기에 각이 없고 주로 자주색 기운이 있으며 누운 털이 보인다.

물통이란 물이 많다는 뜻인데 줄기가 다육식물처럼 물기를 많이 품고 있어서 부드럽고 쉽게 툭~! 꺾여진다.
