오늘 기대하지도 않던 산벚나무 꽃을 만나서 대박을 쳤다.
이 녀석은 해발이 높은 고산지역에 자생하기에 일부러 녀석을 보러 가지 않으면 만나기 쉽지 않다.
또 고산의 산벚나무는 수고가 높아서 꽃을 촬영하기에는 하늘의 별따기라.
여태 녀석을 촬영해 본 적이 없었는데 강원도 고산의 계곡부에서 쓰러진 산벚나무가 그래도 봄이 온 걸 잊지 않으려고 꽃을 피우고 있지 않은가.
3월 중순 쯤 마지막 눈 폭탄으로 쌓인 습설의 무게를 이기지 못한 20m 가 넘는 큰 나무들이 허리가 부러지거나 쓰러져서 계곡을 덮고 있는 모습이 무척 안타까웠는데 한 두그루도 아니고 수십 그루의 처참한 모습은 너무 가슴이 아팠다.
그래도 쓰러지고 부러진 가지에서 마지막 힘을 짜서 꽃을 피운 산벚나무 덕분에 꽃을 볼 수 있었으니 아이러니하게도 쓰러진 나무 덕을 본 셈이 되었다.
벚나무는 저지대 산지에 흔히 자생하는데, 산벚나무는 해발 800m 이상의 고산에 분포한다.
두 녀석 모두 잎과 꽃자루 암술대에 털이 없는데,
산벚나무는 벚나무와 달리 꽃차례자루가 거의 발달하지 않은 점이 벚나무와 구분이 된다

꽃차례자루가 거의 없다. 꽃은 대부분 한 곳에 2개씩 달려 있다.

암술대와 자방에 털이 없다.
악통이 부풀지 않는다.
밪나무와 산벚나무는 잎과 잎자루에도 털이 없다.
