아랫 동네에는 벌써 꽃잎이 다 떨어졌다. 석포 계곡에서도 이 녀석 꽃을 찾았지만 이미 다 끝난 상태라...
실망하여 태백으로 부리나케 달렸는데 만항재로 오르는 도로 옆에 돌글동글한 화서를 치켜세우고 한창 흐드러지고 있다.
올해 이 녀석 꽃을 못담을까 적이 염려했더니 ㅎㅎ.....역시 대 꽃복은 감당할 수가 없는 거여.
얼핏 보면 귀룽나무와 비슷하여 귀룽나무로 보고 지나칠 게다.
귀룽나무보다는 꽃이 더 자잘하고 특히 꽃술이 꽃잎보다 더 길어서 폭죽놀이를 하는 것 같이 보인다.
이 녀석 수피는 마치 복숭아나 벚나무 수피 같이 번질거리는 광택이 있고 가로로 껍질이 벗겨진다.
귀룽나무 화서는 아래로 늘어지지만 개벚지나무 하서는 위로 서는 경향이 있다.
꽃잎은 타원형 또는 긴 도란형이며 수술은 암술대와 길이가 같다.
맥위에 털이 있거나 없고 가장자리에 날카로운 톱니가 있다. 엽병은 길이 1-2cm로서 선이 있다.
가지가 정자형으로 자라 수형이 곧아서 기상이 있다.
