제주에 오면 꽃도 꽃이지만 나는 식물을 살핀다.
이 곳에는 육지에서 볼 수 없는 식물들이 많기 때문이다.
한 곳에 주저 앉으면 시간 가는 줄 모르고 주변을 뒤지는데 그러니 꽃을 보려는 사람들과 함께 동행하기 어렵다.
내가 보고싶은 걸 보자니 다른 분들께 민폐가 되고 다른 분들의 페이스에 맞추자니 내 살피려는 걸 못 살펴서 계속 미련이 남기 때문이다
이렇게 실망초나 들따 보고 있는 사람캉 꽃보러 다릴 사람 있으까이?
그래서 혼자 다니거나 나와 코드가 맞는 분과 함께 동행하게 된다.
총포가 항아리단지처럼 볼록하니 생겼는데 망초나 큰망초에 비하여 꽃이 크고 귀엽다.
망초속은 개망초속과 달리 설상화가 드러나지 않는다. 소화는 바깥 것은 암꽃이고 안쪽 것은 양성이다.
포편은 선형이며 녹색으로서 길이가 같지 않고 3줄로 배열한다
잎은 가장자리가 밋밋하거나 결각상의 톱니가 있으며 윗부분의 잎은 선형이고 밀생한다.
실망초는 원줄기 끝에 화서가 생기면 더 자라지 않고 화서 아래쪽에 곁가지가 생겨서 길게 자란다
