망초(국화과 망초속)

설상화가 긴 개망초속과 달리

큰망초 실망초와 함께 망초속 꽃은 볼품이 없다

 

 

 

 

 

꽃은 7~9월에 피고 원줄기 끝에서 가지가 많이 돋아 전체적으로 큰 원추화서를 형성하며 두화(頭花)는 다수이다.

총포는 종형으로 나비 2mm 내외이며 총포편은 엷은 녹색이고 뒷면에 1열의 털이 있다.

설상화 꽃잎 끝은 2열로 갈라지며 중앙부에 있는 관상화보다 약간 높다.
